Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is thankful for the customers and members we serve for recognizing us as the best in the state for customer satisfaction.
Blue Cross has been awarded the J.D. Power Award for member satisfaction among commercial health plans in Michigan for the second time in three years. The award is given to the top-ranking health plan in its region in the J.D. Power 2024 Commercial Member Health Plan study.
Blue Cross was ranked number one across all eight dimensions of the J.D. Power study:
  • Product/Coverage Offerings
  • Problem Resolution
  • Able To Get Health Services How/When I Want
  • Digital Channels
  • People
  • Helps Save Time or Money
  • Trust
  • Ease of Business
Customer experience has been a key part of our initiatives at Blue Cross over the past several years. These initiatives include:
  1. Partnering with our network of providers through initiatives such as Blueprint for Affordability to improve quality and access to care for our members.
  2. Partnering with Maven Clinic, a virtual health care provider that offers high-quality, evidenced-based information to women for health through pre-conception, maternity, return to work, parenting, and menopause.
  3. Adding cancer support through a virtual platform to give members with cancer and their caregivers access to educational resources, clinical oncology expertise, mental health support, and a network of peer mentors.
  4. Offering 24/7 Virtual Care through Teladoc® Health, providing virtual visits nationally with U.S. board-certified doctors and nurse practitioners for physical and mental health.
  5. Reducing the number of medical procedures that require prior authorization.
  6. Reducing the costs of members’ prescriptions through the Blue Care Network’s Price Edge service.
  7. Improving the onboarding experience to help members better understand their benefits.
  8. Launching an all-new digital experience at bcbsm.com
  9. Making mental health care more accessible by adding more than 2,300 providers to its nationwide network through a new relationship with AbleTo, a virtual behavioral health provider.
  10. Creating the Collaborative Care Program, starting with 213 physician practice designations, to coordinate behavioral health within the Patient-Centered Medical Home primary care practice.
  11. Enhancing the Blue Cross care management portfolio to include additional services, tiers, and pricing options for employers to fit their employees’ needs.
Blue Cross employees and our partners, including our network providers, serve our members and enable them to get the access they need to high-quality, affordable health care.
We are honored to receive this J.D. Power Award, which recognizes the ways in which Blue Cross is ensuring members get the physical and mental health care they need.
