Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is returning for the third consecutive year to sponsor the Buy Michigan Now Festival, located in downtown Northville. The event takes place Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3. The festival is a weekend event that attracts a crowd of over 20,000 people, celebrating the state’s annual Buy Michigan Week. The event includes food, street vendors, live music and children’s activities, which all highlight Michigan-based businesses and products. On Saturday, August 2, BCBSM will have a tent set up to interact with festival goers, promoting kid’s health and wellness using games and activities that help kids learn how to make healthy food choices. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network are committed to helping the people of Michigan lead healthier lives, especially children. Other sponsors include Absopure and IMJ Communications, both of whom, have been consistent sponsors of the Buy Michigan Now Festival . When asked why they continue to return year after year, Jeanne Micallef from IMJ Communications, spoke about the importance of supporting Michigan businesses. “As a Michigan based company, I think it’s important to support other Michigan businesses and this event provides the perfect avenue to come together with businesses that have the same goal in mind: to promote and support everything Michigan has to offer.” The importance of supporting local businesses is prevalent with Absopure as well. “Local businesses drive Michigan commerce and develop thriving communities,” stated Frank Zolenski from Absopure. “It’s Michigan entrepreneurs and small business owners that are creating jobs and fueling our state’s economic growth. By raising awareness about Michigan-based companies, we can educate consumers about the product,s and services, produced within our great state and empower them to make purchase decisions that support Michigan’s economic growth.” Many companies are dedicated to spreading awareness about local Michigan businesses and the Buy Michigan Now Festival is a great event to showcase this dedication. This year’s festival hours: Friday, August 1: 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, August 2: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, August 3: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free of charge.
